Green Industry Conference 2013

With motto "Promoting the rapid uptake of green industry in harmony with the Earth’s ecosystems", the third Green Industry Conference (GIC) will be held in Guangzhou, China, from 7 to 9 November 2013.

 

The three-day event will be organized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).

 

The Green Industry Conference 2013 will highlight both success stories and outstanding policy challenges. Participants will include high-level government officials, representatives of the private sector, and academic and civil society experts in the field of Green Industry.

 

The Conference will showcase and assess concrete examples of the application of green industry concepts to manufacturing processes. The innovative management and technology approaches presented will demonstrate the commercial viability of applying green policies and practices and explore specific challenges and opportunities for different sectors and regions.

 

Outcomes of the conference will include a more actionable understanding of how sustainable industrial development can be achieved, an expanded network of contacts with Green Industry thought and industry leaders, and an introduction to action frameworks for further engagement.
